When will the auction take place?
Unless the Ekos Genesis Art collection sells out during the Pre-Auction Period (see below FAQs), the
Auction begins on May 2, 2023 at 10am PT and runs until the Auction Close which is described below.
How can I participate?
You can participate in two ways: 1) Place a Deposit during the Pre-Auction Period (described below) and/or 2) Participate in the Dutch-style Auction when it begins on May 2, 2023 at 10am PT (the “Auction”).
Who is eligible to participate?
You can only participate if you are above 18 years of age and the age of majority in your jurisdiction. We may block residents from certain countries from participating and may block certain individuals at our sole discretion. You are responsible for complying with any applicable legal requirements in your jurisdiction in connection with your participation in the Pre-Auction or Auction.
What is a Deposit?
A “Deposit” is the amount of ETH you submit to be held in a smart contract to purchase a piece of Ekos Genesis Art, which is recorded on the Ethereum blockchain.
How do I place a Deposit?
To place a deposit, go to our auction page:
- Connect your Ethereum-compatible wallet accepted by RainbowKit
- Press the deposit ETH button
- Enter the amount that you would like to deposit (it must be at or above the current Clearing Price, but there is no maximum). Note that a higher Deposit does not place you higher in the queue for a piece of Ekos Genesis Art. However, a Deposit that is a multiple of the Resting Price (explained below) means you may obtain multiple pieces of Ekos Genesis Art.
- Sign your transaction via your wallet. Your Deposit will be placed. See below for information about increasing your Deposit.
Can I increase my Deposit during the Pre-Auction Period or Auction?
Yes you can. To increase your deposit, go to our auction page:
- Connect your Ethereum-compatible wallet accepted by RainbowKit. You must use the same wallet as the initial Deposit.
- Sign your transaction via your wallet
Your Deposit will be added to your existing Deposit, and will have the same time priority as your existing Deposit when we allocate pieces of Ekos Genesis Art
What is the maximum I can deposit?
There is no maximum deposit. However, if we suspect unethical or nefarious activity, Mythos reserves the right to enforce a maximum on a wallet at its sole discretion.
Can I decrease my Deposit?
Once a deposit is submitted, it cannot be decreased.
Can I cancel/withdraw my deposit?
Once a deposit is submitted, it cannot be canceled or withdrawn.
What if I submitted a Deposit from the wrong ETH wallet address and want to update it before the auction?
You cannot change your ETH wallet address after the Deposit has been submitted. You are strongly urged to confirm your wallet address before using it to submit a Deposit.
What is the “Clearing Price” and the “Resting Price”?
The “Clearing Price” is the current price in ETH of a piece of Ekos Genesis Art at various points of the Pre-Auction and Auction. The Clearing Price starts at 10 ETH and could go as low as .2 ETH. The “Resting Price” is the Clearing Price at the time of the Auction Close.
How will the auction work?
- The Auction begins with a Clearing Price of 10 ETH and, until the Auction Close, will drop by .5 ETH every four minutes until the Clearing Price reaches .5 ETH. Then, the Clearing Price will drop by .3 ETH to .2 ETH for the final 8 minutes of the Auction or until the Auction Close.
- The Auction will end (i) 88 minutes after it starts or (ii) when the aggregate Deposits are sufficient to allow all pieces of Ekos Genesis Art to be distributed at the then-current Clearing Price, whichever comes first. This is the “Auction Close.”
- At the Auction Close, we will allocate pieces of Ekos Genesis Art as described below.
How do we allocate the supply of Ekos Genesis Art After the Auction Close?
You will not be allocated any pieces of Ekos Genesis Art until the Auction Close. At that time, we will allocate pieces of Ekos Genesis Art to the wallets from which Deposits were made in the chronological order of when Deposits were recorded on the Ethereum blockchain. If there are multiple Deposits within a single Ethereum block, they will be ordered by their transaction order within that block. In the event of any discrepancy, our decision on how Deposits were ordered is at our sole discretion and final. This allocation process is referred to as “Ekos Priority System”. The number of pieces of Ekos Genesis Art you receive will be the amount of your Deposit divided by the Resting Price unless there are not enough pieces of Ekos Genesis Art left. In that case, we will allocate to you a lower number of pieces of Ekos Genesis Art. If there is any remaining amount of ETH in your Deposit after the allocation, we will refund that amount to you (“Residual Deposit”). For example, if your Deposit was 15 ETH and the Resting Price is 10 ETH, you will receive a Residual Deposit of 5 ETH. There is no guarantee that by making a Deposit, you will get a piece of Ekos Genesis Art.
If I am successful in collecting an Ekos Genesis Art piece, when will I receive it?
We expect that you will receive an unrevealed Ekos Genesis Art piece within 48 hours after the Auction Close. If there are any changes to this timeline, we will endeavor to promptly post that information on our Site. The piece of Ekos Genesis Art you receive will be allocated to you in a provably random manner. You cannot choose which piece(s) of Ekos Genesis Art you would like to obtain.
How long until the Ekos Genesis Art reveal?
We expect that the Ekos Genesis Art will be revealed on June 27, 2023, a very special date for our Ekos Genesis Art team.
If I am allocated Ekos Genesis Art piece(s), is any further action required?
After you have made a Deposit, and if you were allocated a piece of Ekos Genesis Art, you do not need to take any additional steps to receive your piece(s) of Ekos Genesis Art.
What is the starting Clearing Price of the auction?
The auction’s starting Clearing Price is 10 ETH.
How much does the Clearing Price drop by?
The Clearing Price will be 10 ETH throughout the Pre-Auction and for the first 4 minutes of the Auction. Thereafter, the Clearing Price will drop by 0.5 ETH every four minutes, until the Clearing Price reaches 0.5 ETH after 80 minutes, at which time the Clearing Price will drop to 0.2 ETH for a final 8 minute period.
When does the Auction end?
The “Auction Close” refers to the conclusion of the Auction, after which all Ekos Genesis Art pieces will be allocated and we will not accept any more Deposits. The Auction Close will occur at the earlier of: (i) 88 minutes elapsing and (ii) when the aggregate ETH Deposits made during the Pre-Auction Period and Auction is sufficient to allow all pieces of Ekos Genesis Art to be distributed at the the-current Clearing Price.
What would cause the Auction to end before the scheduled 88 minutes?
The Auction will end when the total amount of ETH Deposits from all Deposits is sufficient to allow all pieces of Ekos Genesis Art to be distributed at the then-current Clearing Price.
How do I request a refund?
Once a Deposit is submitted, you cannot request a refund. However, following the Auction Close, any amount of ETH from your Deposit not allocated toward a piece of Ekos Genesis Art will be returned to the wallet from which the Deposit was made as the Residual Deposit.
What is the Pre-Auction?
Between April 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM PT and April 30, 2023 at 11:59 PM PT (the “Pre-Auction Period”) you can place a Deposit of 10 ETH or more. If all pieces of Ekos Genesis Art are distributed during the Pre-Auction, we will not conduct the Auction. Instead, pieces of Ekos Genesis Art will be allocated to those who made a Deposit during the Pre-Auction Period using the Ekos Priority System until the supply runs out.
What are the Collector Benefits of Participating in the Pre-Auction Period?
- When you place a pre-deposit of 10 ETH or more during the Pre-Auction Period, you will secure at least one piece of Ekos Genesis Art, provided the 995 pieces of Ekos Genesis Art have not yet been allocated.
- We have allocated 100 pieces of 1/1 original hand-crafted digital art called Ekos Genesis Art Portraits (separate from the 995 Ekos Genesis Art pieces that are part of the auction) for those who make the earliest Deposits during the Pre-Auction Period. Participants are eligible to receive one Ekos Genesis Art Portrait for every 10 ETH deposited during the pre-auction deposit period, up to a maximum of five per digital wallet. The collectors who qualify for one or more Ekos Genesis Art Portraits will be able to select their specific pieces of art in an order that prioritizes the earliest deposits.
- Participants are eligible to receive one Ekos Genesis Art Portrait for every 10 ETH Deposited during the Pre-Auction Period, up to a maximum of five pieces per digital wallet. If the Ekos Genesis Art Portrait supply runs out, we will place a notification on the Auction page.
- Participation in the Pre-Auction Period counts towards Collector Leaderboard positions and Top Collector Rewards (described below).

auction page to get started.
What is the Top Collector Reward?
The Top Collector Reward is the six original 1/1 pieces of Ekos Genesis Art that can be viewed here. This Ekos Genesis Art is from the same group as the two that were sold together for $100,000 in May 2021. This reward will be given to the top six collectors on our Collector Leaderboard after the Auction Close. We will contact the top six collectors and arrange for them to choose which of the six Top Collector Reward pieces they want based on ranked order in which they finished, starting with the top collector on our Collector Leaderboard and ending with the sixth.

What is the Collector Leaderboard?
During the Auction, we will post a leaderboard showing the 100 wallets that are expected to be allocated the highest number of Ekos Genesis Art pieces. At the Auction Close, the six wallets that have been allocated the most pieces of Ekos Genesis Art will each be allocated a Top Collector Reward. Note that the leaderboard will be for informational purposes only until the Auction Close, after which we will publish the final leaderboard.
What happens if there are two Deposits on the leaderboard for exactly the same amount?
When Deposits are the same on the leaderboard, we will prioritize them using the Ekos Priority System.
